Dr. Volker Baas (MPA'88)

Volker is a class of `88 graduate of the John F. Kennedy School of Government. Prior to his post graduate time at Harvard he studied law and passed his first and second state examination in Frankfurt. He also worked for a Boston law firm and spent two terms as visiting student at Harvard Law School.
Volker is Of Counsel at GÖRG (Partnerschaft von Rechtsanwälten mbB), one of the biggest independent law firms in Germany. He specializes in banking, banking supervisory and investment law.
Volker was elected President in 2010 and held this office until 2019. In 2019 he was appointed to serve as European Director in the Global Board of the Harvard Alumni Association in Cambridge.
Outside his professional environment his interests include literature, theatre, skiing, tennis and soccer.
