As we stand at a historic Crossroads, the German American Conference running from November 14th to 16th, 2025, and organized by students at Harvard University, represents not just an opportunity for dialogue but a profound responsibility. With new leadership in both the United States and Germany, our transatlantic partnership faces a moment of deep uncertainty – where decades-old trust has been shaken, and the future remains unknown. The choices we make now will shape the course of this century.
Recognizing the magnitude of this moment, we have embraced Crossroads as our guiding theme. It acknowledges that the road ahead demands not just conversation, but a fundamental redefinition of our partnership. Our mission is to facilitate a meaningful exchange between leaders and bright, passionate students from both sides of the Atlantic on the pressing questions that will determine our shared future in politics, business, academia, and society.

The GAC was more than inspiring for me. As an 18-year-old, I was deeply impressed by how every panel brought together both sides of the Atlantic and most of all, the potential of stronger cooperation in the years ahead. One moment that stayed with me was the speech by Wendy Sherman. Her message was clear: we are the future, and the real question is what we are willing to invest to build the future we want. Hearing this in a room full of young people felt like both a challenge and a call to action. What ultimately shaped the conference most were not only the panels, discussions, and speakers, but the conversations that happened afterward. They were a reminder that change begins when young people connect, challenge each other, and start creating. I am deeply greatful to have experienced the GAC and it‘s unique impact.
